Instructions
Step 1: Draw Guidelines
- Start by drawing a horizontal line across your page. This will serve as the girdle—the widest part of the diamond that divides the top and bottom halves.
- Then, draw a vertical line down to define the full height of the diamond. This line ends in a sharp point—this will be the bottom tip (culet) of the diamond.
Step 2: Draw the Crown and Pavilion
- From the top, draw two slanting lines upward and inward toward the center to form the angled crown In such a way that it defies the diamond into three equal parts
- Similarly, draw two slanted lines from the ends of the girdle downward to meet at the bottom point. This forms the pavilion.
Now you have a basic kite or diamond shape, divided horizontally by the girdle.
Step 3: More details in the diamond
- Draw two more lines on both sides of diamond Close to the outer line.
- On the crown, draw three diamond shapes 🔷
- From each bottom point of the diamond shapes, draw two diverging lines joining the lines made in step 2 near the bottom point.
- In the centre horizontal lines draw zigzag lines forming tiny diamonds.
The diamond drawing is ready.
Step 4: Coloring Your Diamond
- Choose a Gradient Color Palette. Pick 4-6 shades of the same color (e.g., light blue to deep blue) to give your diamond a realistic light-reflective look.
- Use darker shades on the lower pavilion and one or two top facets to suggest depth and reflection.
- Alternate lighter and darker shades to enhance the crystal-like shine.
- Use a white pencil, gel pen, or leave a few tiny sections uncolored to simulate light reflections or sparkling effects. Focus on the crown and the top edges.
- For more realism, add a faint background glow using a very light color.
