Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Sketch the Diamond Outline
- Use the reference drawing below to outline the Princess Cut Diamond, focusing on clean lines and symmetry.
2. Choose a Color Palette
- Select a range of 6 to 8 shades—include icy blues, silvers, whites, and cool greys.
- If you’re painting traditionally, prepare all the shades beforehand by mixing lighter and darker tones.
3. Build Contrast with Shading
- Start filling in the facets using alternating light and dark shades next to each other.
- This contrast creates the illusion of depth and sparkle.
4. Detail the Top Facets
- The top portion of a Princess Cut has many tiny square-like facets.
- Divide this area into eight equal sections and paint each one using semi-transparent layers so the base colors subtly show through—this will unify the diamond’s look.
5. Add Central Shine
- In the very center of the diamond, add a stroke of luminous white to mimic a strong sparkle or light reflection.
6. Final Touches
- Add outer glow Around the diamond.
- Refine any edges and add highlights where the light would naturally hit.
- You can lightly glaze over certain areas to give it a more polished, glass-like finish.
🎉 And that’s it — your Princess Cut Diamond is ready to shine!
