First Spark Of Creativity
I was always fascinated by the art my mom created with her paintbrush. I could sit for hours, watching her bring her visions to life on the canvas. I longed to create something of my own, so I started drawing as a little girl with a simple crayon and paper.
It wasn't until I discovered a movie about the talented painter, Margaret Keane, that I found my artistic spark. Her big eyes captivated me, and from that moment on, my style started to take shape, As I honed my signature style, I discovered a fondness for drawing people. I noticed how we tend to overlook the subtle aspects of life that make each moment unique. For instance, where one person might see a simple tree, I see a dance between the wind and the tree itself. This understanding of the world shapes my approach to art, whether I'm sketching a person or studying other subjects
Trails and Struggles
Along the way, I faced several challenges, such as struggles with proportions, comparing my work to others, experiencing art blocks, and even moments of creative dry spells. To overcome these obstacles, I focused on my strengths and addressed one challenge at a time. It's easy to become discouraged by comparing our talents to those of others. However, when I changed my perspective to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual, I found that I could both learn from others and celebrate our differences.
One major challenge I faced was when I first began my journey into digital art. I struggled to adapt my drawing techniques to the digital medium, and I also experienced a period of creative dryness. But by consistently practicing and drawing regardless, and occasionally taking breaks to watch digital art tutorials or find inspiration on Pinterest, I managed to overcome these hurdles. Artists who particularly inspired and helped me were Samdoesart and Drawingwiffwaffles.
Samdoesart is renowned for providing numerous valuable tutorials and tips to improve digital art skills. His approach focuses on various techniques that cater to different levels, from beginners to advanced artists. By offering a wide range of tutorials, he has helped many artists enhance their digital art abilities.
Drawingwiffwaffles specializes in demonstrating traditional art techniques and showcasing the supplies artists can use to create their artworks. They offer tutorials and tips on a variety of traditional media, such as pencils, pastels, and watercolors, catering to artists who prefer traditional methods.
Supplies
In the early days of my artistic journey, I relied on basic art supplies like Crayola crayons and markers. I had a particular liking for the skinny crayons and often used them in my traditional art lol. As time went on, I transitioned to using markers and ink and switched from a basic sketchbook to digital art using the program sketchbook. Later, I discovered Procreate for digital art, and sometimes I still return to traditional art when the mood strikes.
Growing As An Artist
To grow as an artist, practice and learning from others are essential. Just like a runner can't win a race without starting to move, every artist begins their journey somewhere and continues to develop over time. Initially, I struggled with learning to draw faces, and I wanted to become good at it quickly. However, when I took my time and truly understood the lessons I was being taught, I found that things became easier and my art improved as a result.
It's important to remember that progress in art is gradual, and there's no rush to be perfect right away. Focus on the process, experiment with different techniques, and most importantly, enjoy the journey of creating art. With dedication and consistency, you'll not only improve your skills, but you'll also find a unique style that expresses your artistic voice. So, keep practicing, learning, and embracing the art you create, and your growth as an artist will continue to unfold.
The journey of being an artist is a lifelong learning experience. There's always something new to discover and improve upon, regardless of your skill level. Keep the spirit of learning alive and embrace the process of growth and self-improvement. It's what makes the journey as an artist both exciting and fulfilling!
Starting My Own Art Shop
A few months ago, I finally realized my dream of opening my first art shop online. I chose a print-on-demand website called Redbubble, which allows me to sell my artwork on various items like stickers, prints, and t-shirts. It was a result of extensive research and hard work, and it's incredibly fulfilling to know that others can enjoy my art because of it. Starting an art shop does require a lot of effort and advertising, but the joy of having my own shop makes it all worth it."
If opening your own art shop is your dream, don't let anything hold you back. With dedication and persistence, you can achieve it. There are plenty of resources and online platforms available to help you get started. Remember, the journey might be challenging, but the reward of sharing your art with the world is priceless. Go for it and make your art dreams come true!
The Art Journey Never Ends

I'm incredibly grateful for the supportive @diyvinci community and the talented artists who inspire me. The art journey is an endless adventure full of learning, growth, and discovery. No matter how much experience and skill you have, there's always room for improvement, new techniques to learn, and new ways to express yourself through your art. As long as you continue to push your limits, experiment with different mediums and styles, and remain open to feedback and advice, your artistic journey will never truly end.
So, that's my story! I hope it has inspired and encouraged you to start your own artistic journey. Remember, it's okay to take your time to find your style and voice.
