To craft your own DIY name plate, gather the following materials:
Wooden ply of your preferred shape.
Acrylic or oil paints
Primer or gesso
Pencil, paintbrushes, and a color palette
Varnish
Follow these steps:
Apply gesso or primer onto the wooden ply where you plan to paint.
Paint a base coat in a light or dark color that contrasts with the font color.
Sketch a charming landscape or any scene that evokes feelings of home. For example, you could depict a serene lake with swans near the house.
Select a font for the name and/or house number. Use pencil to draw two parallel lines and write the details in a nice calligraphy fonts.
Paint the background and letters using oil or acrylic colors.
Once the paint has dried completely, apply 2 to 3 layers of high-quality varnish.
Your name plate is now complete and ready to adorn your home.
P.S. : Get a small wooden ply and you can also paint a key chain resembling to the painting on the name plate.
